Kristina graduated from Pomona College (Claremont, CA) with her BA degree in 1996. She then attended Emory University (Atlanta, GA), earning her Master of Physical Therapy in 2001 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2003. She has worked full-time in the orthopedic setting since 2001 and in 2005 became certified in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT). She presented her research on overuse injuries in 2002 and was published in 2006. Kristina has clinical experience with all kinds of orthopedic dysfunction, including treatment of the TMJ and vestibular problems. Kristina enjoys treating orthopedic injuries of all types, but is especially interested in the treatment of overuse injuries associate with endurance sports. She truly enjoys helping her patients reach their functional goals, by finding the source of the dysfunction and not just treating the symptoms. Kristina grew up dancing and playing sports, learning early on the benefits of physical therapy. She received multiple ITA awards and NCAA All-American honors while competing in collegiate tennis. Since moving to Arizona in 2003, she has participated in many half marathons and triathlons, up to the Ironman distance. When not participating, she can be found cheering at local running and triathlon events. She also enjoys hanging with her dogs, hiking, snow skiing, traveling, photography, and reading.
